About Tony Gant

Tony Gant was a student of Gwilym Thomas at Hammersmith School of Art and is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association.

“We have been making stoneware pottery since 1961, and since 1968 in our present studio. Each pot is individually made, mainly on the wheel. We formulate our own clay bodies using Devon ball clays, and glazes from basic raw materials. Firing in a gas kiln of our own design and build takes 17 hours to reach a temperature in excess of 12400C. Cooling takes two days.”

Although Tony lives and works in central London, we felt his ceramics have a very distinctive seaside feel, the sea, the sand and the sky!  We hope you enjoy using these beautifully made yet very functional ceramics.
